Acclaimed comedy 'Boom' extended through January

Theater on the Edge is bringing back its hit comedy “Boom” for a series of performances this month. The Edgewood theater, south of downtown Orlando, is making a name for itself with its intimate setting, hyper-realistic sets by Samantha DiGeorge and interesting choices of plays.
“Boom” deservedly boosted its reputation. The comedy with a “Twilight Zone”-like twist starts out with a hookup gone horribly wrong. A young woman answers a personal ad, then finds herself in a bunker with a man insisting the world is about to end.
Meanwhile, a mysterious stranger is observing them from afar. The laughs come quickly and often, but this smart, little show has darker, thought-provoking material aplenty as well.
Lead actors Megan Raitano and Adam Minossora and director Marco DiGeorge were all lauded in the Sentinel’s 2018 best-of-the-year theater honors, and the production itself was named one of the year’s best.
Written by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, “Boom” sold out its original run at Theater on the Edge.
